Anyway...where to begin? Last night was another good show at Otto's, with a healthy dose of meatheads mixed in for good measure. The opening bands were pretty decent. It's the second time I've seen those kids in Surround Sound this year. Sure they're about nineteen but I wish I could play like that at that age. Melissa seems to enjoy them.

It was a great setlist, they started with Wolf Like Me, which gets better everytime I hear it. During Hy5'n he got into it with some meathead and Scott kept singing:

"You crass fat-ass" "YOU!"

The whole time directing it at that guy. Talked about his goatee and how this is it for him, how he's going nowhere or something, it was pretty amusing. I think that's what makes the DeKalb shows memorable, someone either pisses him off or there are just plenty of guys there rocking out to a song written about them.

A couple fights broke out and the people in the balcony were being idiots but it was a great show for the most part. It was good to see everyone, I ran into Tom, Becky, Jon, and Gracie. That guy that always gets hammered and almost gets his ass kicked every show was also there.

I was actually kind of bummed out for a moment or two last night, I guess it's the fact that I'm realizing I'm getting older. The older I get the further from the front I watch the show it seems. It's also not like it used to be when every face was familiar.  It seemed like a pretty young crowd as well.  Maybe it was the fact that I was back in the D-E-K that did it.

Speaking of, being back in DeKalb always brings back memories.  It was really cool to be able to show Mel all of my old haunts.  Grant South, Greek Row, the campus.  It was nice.  Although it seems like the Lambda Chi house is gone, and there are so many new buildings.  It's pretty crazy.  I can't believe that it's been over ten years since I was a student there.  Time flies...it's insane.

But I digress, the show ended, we said our goodbyes and headed back to the Chi.  It was a pretty good night.
