Didn't really do much, went out for a couple hours late to a friend's house and played some X-Box, Madden of course. Speaking of, friggin' Bears are losing, but I guess it was to be expected. We started off so good too...anyway where was I? Oh yeah playing Madden, anyway I was talking to my friend about X-Box Live and how he should get it. His girlfriend then got into how it's disturbing that people can sit at home and try to interact with people through a headset. How it's horrible for little kids, and how that's taking away the one and only good thing about video games. The human interaction element, of hanging out with friends and playing.
Then of course it got into online gaming and chatting, etc. Got me thinking. This year I have spent a lot of time on the PC. Probably more than I have ever in my entire life combined. TSO, There, writing, working on this, on my lame site. Just surfing in general. I don't go out as much as I used to, but on the plus side, I've also saved money. Going out and drinking can get very expensive. I've also met some incredible people, people that I probably would have never met otherwise. But I can also see how it can get addicting, lots of people that I have run into in here are here because of illness, or some other affliction, they're handicapped, or in remote places. It's their escape, their way of interacting with others. I guess it's just something to think about. I don't know if I'll be changing my patterns at all in the new year, but I know some people that have admitted that TSO and/or There has changed them, usually for the better, but some people have been worse off. I don't know, I'm rambling again. Feel free to toss your two cents in.
Well guess I'll get back to seriously watching the game, Rex went out, I hope he's not hurt, that's just what we need. Probably go watch a couple movies after the game, It'll do me some good. No matter how I'm feeling, movies always seem to do the trick, at the very least they take me away from the realities of life for a couple hours or so.
