It also got me all mixed up, thinking about how I react to things again. I know I've touched on it before but things don't seem to hit me like they hit everyone else. Or in the same way. I think it's horrible that I can just go on like nothing happened. I mean it's not exactly like that, but pretty much. Do I get upset because I am upset, or is it that I'm supposed to be upset? Anyway...
Christmas Eve. The usual, family comes over we pretend to like each other for the most part. Eh, I actually do like my family, at least the ones that show up now. Over the last couple of years the group that comes over has dwindled down and for the most part, I do like the few that come over. Of course the Madden Bowl occurred and I lost in the semi-finals. Jose beat me and eventually won the whole thing. It was pretty amusing, the testosterone was flowing. Shit-talking back and forth, so much so that Rich ended up taking off. Of course the consumption of alcohol just accelerates everything. The next day a few people came over and we had leftovers and played a little Bears Monopoly. Yeah you read that right, Chicago Bears Monopoly. I know you're jealous.
So what else has been going on? I've watched a couple of movies, gone out a lot all week, relaxed, jogged/walked, caught up on some things. It's been a pretty productive week so far. I'm definitely taking advantage of the time off this time around. Watched Rocky Balboa on Wednesday which I really enjoyed. I love how authentic they are as far as the HBO coverage, the press conferences, the refs, the announcers, Michael Buffer, it's all good. The story ties everything up nicely and brings it back full circle. Rocky has a couple of great little speeches and the flick's funny at times too. I also watched The Pursuit of Happyness, caught it last night. Will Smith is great in it, so much so that you almost forget it's him. I think he's underrated as an actor. Watch Six Degrees of Separation if you don't believe me. I mean between the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air stuff, the action movies, and the music, I think he gets overlooked as a thespian. Yeah, I wrote thespian, what? Anyway, it's a good movie, his son is great in it and what the hell did they do to Thandie Newton! She looks so, so homely. So regular. Heh.
Fuckin' LJ, I'm having trouble finishing this up. Anyway, that's about it. I could go on and on, but it already has begun. 2006 is on its way out and 2K7 is coming on strong.
